As the new season kicks off this Sunday we are all missing that “hairs standing up on the back of the neck” feeling as we get closer to the first kick off of the Season.

Here at The Kano Foundation it’s a somewhat poignant moment for us. As we start our potential landmark season  – ten league titles for the Hoops and 10 years plus of lifting kids over turnstiles  – we are entering unfamiliar and uncertain territory.

With matches played behind closed doors,  The Kano Foundation is kicking off its 10th Anniversary with a twist. Normally we’d have our legion of volunteers championing our cause pre-kick off with our annual bucket collection. This year we are keeping COVID out and doing it from a social distance with a virtual fundraising drive.

Hollywood stars Martin Compston and Gianni Capaldi launched the campaign on our behalf and are actively encouraging supporters to donate what they can.

The bucket collection is one of our key fundraisers every year – enabling us to buy 182 season tickets, scarves and also provide the Kano Kids with a hot meal at each game.

Every year it is hugely successful. In 2019 our donors enabled us to raise an incredible £10,514.42 – enough to give over 1000 deserving kids a day out . We want to try to equal that this year with our online efforts.

Joe Mackin, Kano Foundation Trustee said “ We cannot thank the fans enough for supporting us all these years. We couldn’t do what we do without the  support and donations we receive from all over the globe, year in and year out “

Any help is much appreciated and we cannot thank our supporters enough. We love you all, and we can’t wait to be back in Section 115 cheering on the 10.
