Celtic FC manager Ange Postecoglou chats about his time so far in the Celtic managers hot seat as we enter into the winter months which includes the shut down and the transfer window. He chats about the players he bought in including Jota and how he is enjoying his football at Celtic.

The Celtic Football Club manager talks about how he and his family have settled into life in Glasgow and the togetherness of the Celtic team and the Celtic fans after having to settle in with a new back room staff and the positive impact his captain Cal Mac has had in the dressing room along with senior players like Tom Rogic and Joe Hart. He also praises the support the Celtic fans are giving the team home and away.

After attending the recent Tommy Burns Story at Celtic, Erin asks Ange how did he enjoy the story of the Celtic Legend and the culture of Celtic and us the fanbase. Ange talks about Tommy and Bertie Auld and the importance of both men to Celtic.

Erin Boyle is a poet from Glasgow who is currently studying Journalism and media at University. She has a love for theatre and is passionate about working with young people and helping to empower marginalised voices in the arts. Her love for Celtic is echoed in her poetry and her earliest memories are dancing around the living room to ‘ Four Leafed Clover’ and ‘Let The People Sing’, while browsing through her Dad’s jersey and fanzine collection. Inspired by her Dad she joined the Kano Foundation, a charity set up by fellow Celtic supporters, where she plays an integral part in taking deserving kids groups to Celtic Park to sample the match-day experience.

The Gaffer Ange Postecoglou – October’s Top Manager

Fresh from mingling with Celtic Fans last night at the Tommy Burns Story, Ange Postecoglou has been named the Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month for October.

It follows an impressive run of results for the Hoops, who remained unbeaten throughout the month with four league win victories over Aberdeen, Motherwell, St Johnstone and Hibernian, along with a draw against Livingston.

The Celtic manager said: “It’s great to be recognised in this way as the Premiership Manager of the Month but I’d like to thank the players, coaches and backroom staff for all of their efforts because, as ever, whatever we achieve we do it together.

Confidence High Ahead of Livingston Visit to Celtic Park

It’s a return to Paradise on Saturday as Celtic welcome Livingston to Celtic Park for a 3pm kick off.

We go into this game in much better form and confidence pumping throughout the team and the fans. When we last played LivI back in September they beat us 1-0 in West Lothian. Since that game we are unbeaten in the league with a home draw against Dundee United the only disappointment.

We are also on the back of an excellent first half performance away to Hibs at Easter Road. The game finished 3-1 but we could have scored 5 or 6 in a blistering first half display. The second half we put on a decent defensive performance to keep Hibs to the one goal and saw the game out comfortable.

Looking at the fixtures up to the next Glasgow Derby on 2nd January, I would be quietly confident of taking maximum points the way the team have been playing in recent weeks. Trips to Dundee United and St Johnstone look the most difficult. The same can’t be said for those across the city, they had a favourable opening run of games, with Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen and Celtic all playing at Ibrox, they now have the reverse to contend with.

Livingston are sitting 9th in the table, with a record of 3 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats, they have 11 points from their 11 games. In the last three games they have beaten St Johnstone 3-0 in Perth, Ross county 3-2 in Dingwall and held to a 1-1 draw at home to Dundee United, so they look like they have hit a bit of form.

A win tomorrow will see Celtic go a point clear at the top of the league with a real chance to put pressure on Rangers before they face Motherwell at Fir Park on Sunday.

Mick Kane hails from Glasgow. He has been hooked on Celtic since he went to his first game when he was 7. Celtic beat Hamilton 8-3 at Celtic Park on the 3rd of January 1987. His favourite player at the time, Brian McClair scored four goals.

He started going regular as a 16 year old when Celtic played at Hampden for the season, being a Southsider it meant a short train journey to get to Hampden. From then he has had a season ticket travelled around Europe for games as Celtic became the dominant force in Scottish football again. A nice change from growing up during Rangers run to 9 in a row.

Away Days Hibs – Celtic Fans & Players United behind Ange while Dark Forces Work at Ibrox

The rain bucketed down from the Sky as we left Glasgow and continued long into the night after we arrived in Edinburgh to see Celtic turn on the style at Easter Road against Hibs while back in Glasgow dark forces were cheating Scott Brown and his new Aberdeen team out of all 3 points against the Rangers.

The traffic was heavy on route to the game, as was the rain but our spirits were not dampened as we pulled into Leith close to the stadium for some Salt and Sauce Fish Suppers before settling into a pub for some pre-match drinks with Frank and the Bhoys from Galway before making the short walk to the stadium.

As the Police directed supporters to the turnstiles high up on their horses, I noticed a Celtic Fan entering the upper tier turnstile having an argument with a steward about Covid Certs. Not sure if he was refused but at our turnstile we moved quickly as we produced our certs. This was the first time I had to produce a cert at a football game in Scotland or Ireland since we got back in July.

Inside it was bucketing down on anyone in the front lower rows of the stand while most of the stadium kept silent for the minutes respect for Walter Smith there were a small number who let themselves down.

Joe Hart seemed well up for the game as he came back to his goal after the huddle and saluted the travelling fans before we witnessed 15 fantastic minutes. We are 2-0 up and back in Glasgow Aberdeen are 2-0 up and Scott Brown has just scored, then noised up their fans and the chant was Broony- Broony throughout the South Stand.

Half time sounded and it was 3-1 and 2-1 at Ibrox. The second half was end to end stuff with both teams going for it. Tom Rogic was outstanding but limped off to great applause and the tackles were hard with Captain Callum McGregor showing the scars of battle.

The Celtic players saluted the Celtic Fans after the game and Ange got in on the action by tapping his hand across the Celtic Crest on his Chest as he fist pumped the fans. Celtic Fans and Celtic Players are united behind Ange that’s for sure.

In Glasgow the Rangers Fan and Referee, Brother Beaton awarded a penalty because he is a cheat, pure and simple but he knows he will get away it. It’s nothing new!

Other results went our way on the night with both Hearts and Dundee United dropping points and now we have climbed to second in the table behind Rangers. Packed Celtic AM Line Up Announced for Murphy’s Glasgow this Saturday

Celtic take on Livingston at Celtic Park on Saturday at 3pm but before then we have a packed Celtic AM Pre-Match show planned for Murphy’s Glasgow in the heart of the Merchant City.

 Joining us to talk Celtic will be former Celtic player and First Team Coach, Alan Thompson. Joining Tommo from the ranks of the Celtic Reserves under Liam Brady will be Paul McSherry who fly’s in from New York. Also flying in from North America for a chat will be NAFCSC President, Tam Donnelly. 

Bend it like Bertie Writer and Creator Jim Orr makes a return to the Celtic AM High stool along with Comedian and Actor, Des McClean fresh from his success on stage with Bend it like Bertie will be bouncing onto the stage to perform a stand-up routine which will be a first for Celtic AM.

Doors open 11, the show kicks off at 12 and the full-time whistle will blow at 2pm to give everyone plenty of time to get up to Celtic Park to cheer on the Bhoys.

Big Test tonight for Ange and the Celtic Bhoys

Celtic travel along the M8 tonight to take on Hibs. A crucial game as we try to continue our recent good form.

A few weeks ago, a trip to Easter Road would have given us palpitations as we went three away league games in a row with defeat. Since then we have beaten Aberdeen and Motherwell away, followed by two convincing performances against Ferencvaros and St Johnstone.

Hibs had started the season flying with 4 wins and 3 draws, they went to Ibrox and were leading until Ryan Porteous was sent off, Rangers then scored twice to give Hibs their first defeat. They have lost the last two games since Ibrox, a 3-0 defeat at home to Dundee United followed up at the weekend with a 1-0 loss at Aberdeen. They currently sit four points and a place behind Celtic in the league.

Martin Boyle has been the stand out player so far and they also have Scotland striker Kevin Nisbet, highly rated full back Josh Doig and former Celtic player Scott Allan in the team.

The teams above Celtic in the league all have equally tough matches tonight, in what could be a pivotal round of games. Rangers host Aberdeen, Hearts are away to St Johnstone and Dundee United are away to Livingston.

With Celtic players returning from injury, the squad is in a good place, Giakoumakis got his maiden goal at weekend and Michael Johnstone putting in some good cameo performances. Jota and Kyogo continue to shine.

It will be a hard match in Leith but something seems to have clicked at Celtic and the players now have a belief in themselves and Ange’s system that I’m fairly confident going into the game, a scenario I wouldn’t have envisaged just 3 or 4 weeks ago.
