When the great Big Jock Stein rolled into Dublin on October 21st 1970 to take on Waterford in the European Cup, it was a showcase of the huge interest in the Famous Glasgow Celtic from the Waterford City area. Trains and buses were wedged with supporters taking the opportunity to see a mixture of the Lisbon Lions and the Quality Street Gang take on a Waterford team with household names like Brennan, Hale and Mathews.
The Port Lairge Emerald CSC should have celebrating their 21st Anniversary by hosting a dinner dance on Saturday 28th March 2020 but that had to be postponed due to the Covid19 Pandemic . The club are delighted to announce its back on and The original holy goalie, John Fallon and Alan Thompson will join them at the RhuGlen Hotel on Saturday 13th November 2021.
Our own Andrew Milne will be MC on the night on what promises to be a cracking night with a great line up with Celtic Storm and Eimbear Ni Ghlacain providing the music. We will be recording some content for Celtic Fanzine TV and the Celtic Soul Podcast on the night .
