Lyrics from the Undertones song. I went to see on the night Alan Stubbs, Hibs team beat the Rangers in Scottish Cup Final back in 2016. On loan Celtic player Anthony Stokes scored twice in the 3-2 dramatic win for the Edinburgh side. Hibs won the cup that afternoon for the first time in 114 years.

Hibs fans singing Sunshine on Leith was a special moment for their fans but since that night the Undertones song always reminds me of the Scottish Cup Final and I was singing it in the build-up to Saturday’s game and since then it has been ingrained in my mind as we look forward to a summer knowing that we beat the Rangers with a 90^th minute goal form Ireland’s Adam Idah to complete a double over our arch rivals. It was sweet!

There was no Undertones gig last Saturday night but I celebrated the win with like-minded Celtic fans into the wee hours of the morning in Glasgow city centre which also set us up for a Beautiful Sunday.

I was reminded after the game that we have only 10 weeks till the start of the league but if you can’t wait that long to see Celtic you can see them in action when they travel to Somerset Park to take on Scott Brown’s, Ayr United in a pre-season friendly on Friday July 5^th .

Enjoy the summer folks. A double winning season for Brendan Rodgers who did tell us when he returned to the Celtic hot seat that he would see us back here in May and there have been some celebrations inside and outside Celtic Park since we beat the Rangers 2-1.
