Match day in Glasgow as Kilmarnock visit Celtic Park. The game follows a weekend of statements. All seemed normal on Friday as Celtic manager Martin O’Neill and central defender Auston Trusty spoke to the media ahead of today’s 4pm kick off. Normal weekend at Celtic not these days.
Just before Average Joe Miller from Not the View joined me to look back at another forgettable European night in Denmark and preview the Kilmarnock game we received an email from the Celtic Fans Collective about the Celtic Trust and the upcoming AGM which is scheduled for Friday 21 Nov.
The latest saga is that shareholders have been blocked from proxying their votes to the Celtic Trust ahead of the upcoming AGM, which the club has claimed is due to a technical fault within the voting system.
This issue has only affected those voting with the Celtic Trust. The timing of this is deeply troubling. The Celtic Trust has taken part in AGMs for over twenty years without issue, yet at a moment when pressure on the board is at its highest and supporters are calling for real structural and strategic change, the voice of small shareholders is being obstructed.
This issue raises serious questions about how the board views and treats supporters and small shareholders, and about the overall direction of the club. It is yet another example of poor governance and a failure to engage meaningfully with the support, demonstrating clearly that change is needed at Celtic Football Club.
Friday night’s weekend podcast was recorded and then we hear that Celtic have released a statement banning Celtic Ultras group the Green Brigade from Celtic Park for 3 games and 3 away games.

The statements continued with the Green Brigade, Bhoys Ultras and the Celtic Fan Collective releasing statements. The sanctions for GB start from todays game, the Ultra groups split opinion within the Celtic support but nobody can deny what they bring to Celtic Park on match days with Tifos, Noise and Colour.
Hibs had a good 3-0 win away yesterday against St. Mirren and now move to within 2 points of Celtic while Falkirk draw with Livingston moved them up to fourth place in the league 4 points behind Celtic. Todays game is a must win to stay ahead of the chasing pack and to keep in touch with league leaders Hearts.
