Dream Debut for Duffy as he awaits Paul the Tim selfie

news

A dream debut for Duffy, three goals in three SPFL appearances for Ajeti, Barkas had his best performance between the sticks, five goal, five goal scorers, a few debuts and and 300 fans back in the ground and we even got a look at Soro. A very positive afternoon in Dingwall. All that was missing was a Paul the Tim selfie with big Shane.

When the team sheet was announced and it spread like wildfire across twitter before you could say 3-5-2 the negative fingers were tweeting. Forest and Ntcham shouldn’t be this shouldn’t be that. I was happy with both the formation and the 11 players picked and how strong did the bench look. I would expect another shuffle or two with the team selection on Wednesday night against St. Mirren.

When Eddie coolly slotted away the first goal from the penalty spot and Ajeti chipped in with his weekly goal, the Ross County players did not hide, they came out and gave it a go, they didn’t park the bus and gave 100% for their lucky fans who were allowed in to the trial game. They brought out the best in Barkas and the woodwork was also on our side today.

The second half we just pushed on the power from the bench was impressive. I’ve watched Shane Duffy over thirty times for Ireland, so I knew what Celtic were getting when we signed him but today all the Celtic faithful got to see how good this no nonsense defender is in both boxes. Powerful and dominant in the mould of the defenders we had when Martin O’Neill prowled the touchline.

Not to be outdone by his new defensive partner Ajer chipped in with the fourth goal before substitute Klimala scored the fifth goal to seal the match after a lovely ball through from another of the todays bench warmers Elyounoussi.

I’m off now for  five pints to celebrate but it would be just lovely to be coming down the road to Glasgow in a steamed up bus full of steamed up mates singing a few songs and having the craic.

Roll on Wednesday! and another away days on the Sofa.
