It is now time to come down from the high of last Sundays win over the rangers and the celebrations that followed and get back on the road for another tension filled adventure across the Irish Sea to see the famous Glasgow Celtic. Destination Motherwell.
Motherwell and Hearts now stand between the SPFL title after a hard season for Celtic on and off the park. Tonight we head to Fir Park to take on one of the most improved teams in Scotland. Motherwell have impressed everyone this season.
I have seen Celtic win plenty of games in Motherwell but I still have nightmares thinking about Scott McDonalds two late goals against Celtic on what became known as helicopter Sunday and we saw the title dream evaporate in what was Martin O’Neill’s last game in charge in his first stint in charge.
Confidence will be high to both camps ahead of tonight’s game. Motherwell have proved they can take points off anyone in the league season and now European Football is on the horizon for their players and their fans next season. They will want to finish in style in front of their home fans and no bigger scalp to take than Celtic.
The Celtic fans we can have faith that Martin O’Neill can get the best out of the players once again tonight and set up a finale on Saturday against Hearts at Celtic Park in front if a full house.
Hearts welcome Falkirk who have had a really good season making the top 6 after two promotions in a row under John McGlynn. Hopefully they can do us a favour tonight and break Edinburgh Hearts at Tynecastle.
