Fans Set For Emotional Return to Celtic Park

news
14 July 2021

I see light at the end of the tunnel for my fellow Celtic Fans longing for a return to Celtic Park to see the Bhoys in the flesh after a virtual nightmare last season. 2000 lucky fans will be inside the stadium as Celtic take on Preston North End in the final game ahead of the Champions League Qualifier against FC Midtjylland in Ange Postecoglou’s first test as Celtic Manager. Unfortunately I won’t be one of those lucky fans.

David Turnbull told the Celtic Fan Media press conference yesterday that preparations have been going well and he is enjoying working with his new boss although he has not had a one on one conversation with him as yet but smiled and gave little away when I asked him if Ange had hinted who his starting 11 would be at 19.45 next Tuesday in Glasgow when the Danish come to town.

Over here in Ireland fans who are vaccinated are looking forward to getting back to Glasgow with Covid Travel Certs arriving in peoples inbox’s from yesterday. Another positive step in reaching the goal of getting back to Glasgow.

In Scotland, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon outlined the plans yesterday to lift Covid Restrictions which should allow at least 2000 fans back in Celtic Park for the big CL game although higher capacity and reports that Dominic McKay will be submitting an application to get 20,000 fans back into Celtic Park for the game next Tuesday. I must add that these are reports and nothing has been confirmed officially by Celtic but fingers crossed.

August the 9th is the date that hopefully the majority of restrictions will be lifted which could lead to if reports are to believed then a full house at Celtic Park for the St. Mirren on August 21 could be on the cards . I am getting a bit excited  and maybe jumping the gun I hope not but We wait in hope!
