Martin O’Neill: A Safe Pair of Hands / The World Cup – The Good, the Bad & the Fans

Glasgow Journalist Michael Pringle joins More than 90 Minutes Editor Andrew Milne for their weekly take on all things Celtic including Martin O’ Neill getting the managers job and the lack of activity or news coming out from Celtic Park apart from an interview with Brian Wilson on Celtic TV.

The Bhoys return from a wee break after Andrew enjoyed the sunshine of Spain at the Celtic Supporters Festival and Michael had a wet one at the Damned gig in Glasgow. During that time Celtic announced their pre-season schedule which like last year takes them to Ireland and Portugal before they take on AC Milan at Celtic Park. Michael gives his opinion on pre-season games and ticket prices.

They discuss the good the bad and the ugly of the current World Cup including Scotland and Dubliner Pico Lopes anchoring the Cape Verde defence in the 0-0 draw with Spain. Ireland may not have made the World Cup, but The Shamrock Rovers captain is representing the League of Ireland. They also share their World Cup memories.

Andrew interviewed Neil Lennon last weekend and the bhoys chat about his contribution to Celtic. The highs 21 major honours as a player and a manager and the low of losing out on the 10IAR.

Let them Eat Cake / 10 days on from the Double

Glasgow Journalist Michael Pringle joins More than 90 Minutes Editor Andrew Milne for a Summer catch up on all things Celtic. 10 Days on from the Cup Final the bhoys are back to talking about the current state of play at Celtic.

Celtic do not have a manager in place, a permanent chairman or woman, a head of recruitment , Michael Nicholson is still the CEO and Dermot Desmond has held talks with O’Neill and Robbie Keane. Celtic fans are not Keane on Robbie that’s for sure. Seems to be business as usual.

The Summer rebuild seems on hold after two poor transfer windows at a time when the Celtic squad is top heavy with passengers picking up a wage. The Celtic board have wasted so much money on paying off managers and brining in some players who can’t even make the bench.

Hopefully Celtic can hold on to their best players and build on it but the bhoys have little trust in the current Celtic board especially now that two Green Brigade members who were allowed back in to Celtic Park after the Blanket ban on the group was lifted have not been allowed to renew their season books.
